In her 16 seasons, Karen Ferguson-Dayes has taken a soccer program at the University of Louisville and molded it into a team that has finished near the top of the conference and advanced to the NCAA Tournament four times. The 2011 BIG EAST Coach of the Year has coached a total of 3 All-Americans a pair of Academic All-Americans, and multiple player of the year winners. The winningest coach in Cardinal history, she has improved the team’s record nearly every season she has been at the helm and rewritten the record books.
During her tenure, Ferguson-Dayes has guided the Cardinals to not only their first NCAA Tournament berth, but multiple trips to the dance. She has also seen the Cardinals through the transition into the nation’s toughest soccer conference in the ACC and into their new state-of-the-art facility at Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium. Last season she added another first for the Cardinals, pulling an upset over the top ranked team in the nation, North Carolina. The overtime win was the biggest win in school history.
In her playing career at UConn as a midfielder, she was named first team All-America in `91, `92 and `93. The Huskies were 63-24-3 during her four-year career and she tallied 53 points (18 goals and 17 assists.) In 1990 as a freshman, the Huskies competed in the national semifinal where she was named to the NCAA All-Tournament team. Soccer America Magazine selected her as a Team MVP in 1992, an award given to 11 players nationally. Ferguson-Dayes' playing career was not limited to the collegiate level. She played for the U.S. National Team in 1992 and 1993.
A native of Holbrook, N.Y., and a graduate of Sachem High School, Ferguson-Dayes is married to Hylton Dayes and the couple has one son, Brandon
Director of Student-Athlete Leadership & Development
Alyssa Murphy has been with the University of Louisville since 2005, working with New Student Orientation, undergraduate recruitment, merit based scholarships, and campus visit programs in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Beginning in February 2016, Alyssa transitioned into the Director of Student-Athlete Leadership and Development, focused on working with student-athletes to increase and strengthen their leadership skills, prepare for internship opportunities, and develop career and graduate school plans once they graduate from the University of Louisville.
A native of Sacramento, CA, Alyssa earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science at San Diego State University in 1998 followed by a Master’s of Science in College Student Personnel from Miami University (OH) in 2000.
Alyssa’s has been working with undergraduate students for more than 15 years at Miami University (OH), Rollins College (FL), Emory University (GA) and the University of Louisville (KY).
Alyssa, and her husband Bill, have 3 children, Sammy, Hannah, and Zachary.
Vanessa Shannon, Ph.D
Director of Mental Performance
Dr. Vanessa Shannon is the Director of Mental Performance for University of Louisville Athletics and Norton Sports Health. As a former NCAA Division I volleyball player, she understands the challenges associated with balancing performance in the classroom and performance in sport. Prior to coming to Louisville, Dr. Shannon spent two years at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL where she served as a Mental Conditioning Coach, coordinated Psychological Test Preparation for the NFL Combine Training Program, and served as a Vision Training Coach for the Major League Baseball Off-Season Training Program. Dr. Shannon began her career in academia where she spent 3 years as department chair of Exercise and Sport Sciences at Tennessee Wesleyan University and 5 years as a faculty member in the Sport and Exercise Psychology Program at West Virginia University.
She holds a PhD in Applied Sport Psychology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, an MS in Exercise Psychology from Kansas State University, and BAs in Health and Human Performance and Psychology from Rice University.

Nadia is the manager of operations for the National Association of Women MBAs. In her role she works with both professional and academic members to enhance their NAWMBA experience through customer service and on-going programming development. She sits on Millsaps College's Alum Board. While at Millsaps, Nadia received a Fulbright to work in Jordan and continued her professional career as an editor of a magazine, leading in its multinational launch and branding. One of Nadia's passions is helping create sustainable solutions for refugee populations and promoting the economic empowerment of women and girls. Since she returned to the US, she has been heavily involved in non-profits in Louisiana.
Nadia obtained her Bachelor of Science in Anthropology from Millsaps College in 2010, graduating with honors and was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Dana has been an entrepreneur and leader in the financial industry for more than 30 years. Through Venminder, Dana designed an entire new approach to vendor management by creating a state of the art software and integrated services solution that allows financial institutions to answer the ever growing challenges and regulatory demand for Vendor Management compliance.
Prior to Venminder, Dana founded and led the team as CEO at iPay Technologies. Under Dana’s leadership, iPay grew from a start-up in 2001 to the one of largest, independent bill pay providers in the United States. When the company was sold to Jack Henry and Associates in 2010, iPay had a 40% market share, millions of subscribers and moved billions of dollars annually.
This hands on operating experience in a high profile/high risk “vendor” business gave Dana a unique perspective into the challenges financial institutions face on a daily basis. Whether it’s negotiating a financial technology contract, sitting across from examiners to answer tough questions regarding safety and soundness or protecting confidential customer data she has sat in her customer’s chair. Following the sale of iPay to Jack Henry, Dana recognized the opportunity to use her experience and assist financial institutions with managing their critical vendor relationships. The team at Venminder was formed with the vision and goal to create a best in class outsource vendor management solution, Venminder.
Nikki Jackson is senior vice president and regional executive of the Louisville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, which covers metro Louisville, southern Indiana and western Kentucky. She is also a member of the Bank’s Management Committee.
Prior to joining the St. Louis Fed in 2014, Ms. Jackson served as personnel cabinet secretary for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, chief human resources officer for Charter Schools USA, vice chancellor of human resources for Maricopa Community Colleges, and other positions in both the health care and legal fields. In her positions, she focused on strategic planning, community partnerships, succession planning, recruitment and retention, and labor negotiations. Ms. Jackson earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Hampton University.
Ms. Jackson is deeply involved in the Louisville community and serves on the boards of Greater Louisville Inc., OneWest, Louisville Public Media, the Louisville Regional Airport Authority, the Board of Advisors of University of Louisville’s College of Business and Family Scholar House. She is a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
In 2017 she was selected as Louisville Business First’s “Woman of Influence.” She has also been honored as one of “20 People to Know in Banking and Finance,” “Forty Under 40” and recognized as one of the “10 Most Influential Women of Louisville.” In 2015 she authored a chapter in the book, Rethinking Human Resources.
Lisa Stephens is Humana’s Vice President, Resolution Team. Her team is committed to delivering an exceptional consumer experience by effectively understanding, resolving, and ultimately preventing problems and complaints.
Lisa has more than 27 years of health care industry experience, with the past 20 at Humana in increasingly challenging leadership positions. She has a wealth of knowledge around operations, process improvement, program management, compliance, and population health.
She has an undergraduate degree in business administration, MBA through the joint University of Kentucky/University of Louisville Executive MBA program, is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and is a Humana certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
Lisa lives in Louisville, Kentucky with her husband Todd, son Austin, and daughter Lauren. Lisa and her family love spending time on Nolin Lake where they enjoy boating. She gives back to her community by actively serving in her local church youth program.

Jill is the Research Coordinator for the Louisville market with the world's largest commercial real estate firm, CBRE. Prior to joining CBRE, Jill worked in consumer market research as well as in accounting and human resources for companies in the construction and commercial janitorial industries. She is also a silversmith and ran her own artisan jewelry business for eight years. Jill studied at DeVry University where she earned a Master’s of Business Administration. She also holds an undergraduate degree in Fine Art from Murray State University.

Former Special Agent of the Cyber Division of the FBI
After joining the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the New York Field Office in 1988 as a support employee, Scott Augenbaum became a Special Agent in 1994 and was assigned to the Syracuse, New York Office, where he worked domestic terrorism, white collar and hate crimes, and all computer crime investigations. In October 2003, he was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent at FBI Headquarters, Washington D.C in the Cyber Division, Cyber Crime Fraud Unit, and was responsible for managing the FBI's Cyber Task Force Program and Intellectual Property Rights Program. In 2006 he was transferred to Nashville, TN and managed the FBI Memphis Division Computer Intrusion/Counterintelligence Squad in Nashville, TN. Over the past three decades, he responded to thousands of Cyber Crime incidents and provided hundreds of computer intrusion threat briefings with the goal of educating the community on emerging computer intrusion threats and how to not to be the victim of a data breach.
In January 2018, he retired from the FBI and he shares his knowledge base to provide a unique training experience. He will scare you and make you laugh and provide you with a number of no-cost quick fixes to prevent you and your organization from becoming victims. Scott Augenbaum earned an MBA at American Sentinel University in Information Technology, and a Masters Certificate in Information Security Management from Villanova University and has earned six General Information Assurance Certifications (GIAC).
